Blackburn have signed Norwegian international Martin Samuelsen on a season-long loan deal from West Ham.

Samuelsen moved to Slaven Bilic's side in June last year from Manchester City where he spent three years at their academy.

The 19-year-old winger played in two Europa League matches for the Hammers before he was sent out on loan to Peterborough, where he made 20 appearances and scored two goals for the League One side.

He has played for his country throughout his youth career and made his senior debut in the friendly win over Iceland in June.

"I'm really happy to be here and I hope I can help and do well this season," Samuelsen told Rovers' website.

"It is a club with a big history, nice training facilities, and a nice stadium, and I knew a few of the players who are here from before. Then when I spoke to the manager I was sold.

"I know Jack Byrne from my time at Manchester City, and also Stephen Hendrie who I've played with at West Ham. I spoke to them both and they said only good things about Blackburn.

"It is a good thing knowing them, it will make it easier to settle in and hopefully I'll get to know the other lads quickly.

"I want to help us win games and score goals and to get Blackburn back where they belong."
