Martin's Starting Stat

Last Saturday, I was at White Hart Lane to see the third consecutive Premier League draw between Tottenham and Liverpool, who are now eight matches unbeaten against Spurs.

Spurs have played three games and have matched last season's points tally against the same opponents. They repeated last season's 1-1 draw at Everton and 1-0 win at Crystal Palace, but they drew 0-0, rather than 1-1, at home to Liverpool last season.

Danny Rose scored in his 150th league game - ending Tottenham's 416-minute drought without a home goal against Liverpool. That was scored by another famous left-footed player, Gareth Bale, in November 2012.

Liverpool's goal was the first Michel Vorm has conceded in more than three hours of football this season.

The draw means Jurgen Klopp still hasn't had consecutive Premier League defeats during his reign and nor has he gone back-to-back games without scoring. His record is: P33 W14 D10 L9 F52 A46 Pts52

Liverpool can now go and play at home after four games on the road. Their August away days are over!

Antonio's a head boy

Michail Antonio scores so many headers. Has anyone scored more since he joined West Ham? Paul, Barking

MARTIN SAYS: The West Ham midfielder's back-post header for West Ham at Manchester City was his second in two games, prompting new England manager Sam Allardyce to hand him a first-ever international call-up.

It was his eighth headed goal since arriving in the Premier League 12 months ago, more than any other player in that period.

Premier League Goals Of The Week

Arsenal's Olivier Giroud has seven, Sergio Aguero five, while Mame Biram Diouf, Graziano Pelle, Salomon Rondon, Shane Long and Andy Carroll all have five.

Antonio is also top of another chart, level with Dele Alli as the highest-scoring English midfielder since the start of last season.

Antonio and Alli have 10 goals, Wayne Rooney (named as a midfielder in Allardyce's squad) and Ross Barkley have nine, while Raheem Sterling has eight.

If England don't beat Slovakia that will be three competitive games in a row without a win. When was the last time that happened? Jack, Southampton

MARTIN SAYS: England face Slovakia on Sunday looking for a winning start to Allardyce's campaign, and for a much-needed competitive victory following a Euro 2016 campaign to forget.

They drew with Slovakia and lost against Iceland in their last two games, but you don't have to go too far back for the last time England lost consecutive competitive games or failed to win in three competitive games.

World Cup 2014 saw them lose against Italy and then Uruguay in the Group Stage, before a draw against Costa Rica, heading home on the early flight out of Brazil.

England last failed to win three competitive games in a row prior to World Cup 2014 in March 2007, in qualification for Euro 2008 against Macedonia, Croatia and Israel.

In terms of losing, they last lost two in a row in same campaign, in November 2007 against Russia and Croatia.

Has any England manager lost their first competitive game in charge? Simon, Gibraltar

MARTIN SAYS: Strangely enough, if Allardyce tastes defeat in his first outing as England boss on Sunday, he'll be in good company.

Of all 13 full-time England managers, only World Cup winner Sir Alf Ramsey has lost his first competitive fixture in charge, a 5-2 defeat by France in a European Championship qualifier in 1963. I'm sure Sam would be happy to lose on Sunday and then lift the World Cup in 2018.

Only three other managers have failed to win their first competitive match; Bobby Robson's 2-2 draw against Denmark in a European Championship qualifier in 1982, Terry Venables' 1-1 draw against Switzerland at Euro 96, and Roy Hodgson's 1-1 draw against France at Euro 2012.

Every other England manager has succeeded on their competitive bow, the highlights being Walter Winterbottom guiding England to a 7-2 victory over Northern Ireland in the Home Nations in 1946, and a 5-0 win over Andorra under Steve McClaren in a Euro 2008 qualifier.

In light of Jonathan Leko's cameo appearance last weekend, what's the shortest time a substitute has been on the pitch before coming off injured? James, Birmingham

MARTIN SAYS: West Brom's Leko lasted just eight minutes having been brought on for West Brom against Middlesbrough, as injury forced him to go straight off.

But eight minutes seems a lifetime in comparison to Mamady Sidibe's three-minute stint for Stoke against Tottenham in August 2010, forced off after snapping his Achilles tendon in the closing stages of the 2-1 defeat, matched by Samir Nasri's three minutes for Man City against Tottenham in May 2015.

Incredibly, five players have been sent off within 60 seconds of being brought on as a substitute in the Premier League era, most famously Steven Gerrard in Liverpool's 2-1 defeat by Manchester United in March 2015 for stamping on Ander Herrera after 38 seconds.

Manchester City's Christian Negouai (v Everton, 2004), Wigan's Andreas Johansson (v Arsenal, 2006), Reading's Dave Kitson (v Manchester United, 2007) and Everton's Kevin Mirallas (v Swansea City, 2015) were also gone in under 60 seconds.

How many penalties has Mike Dean given away (awarded) since the start of last season compared to other Premier League referees? Saul, London

MARTIN SAYS: Dean has taken a stand on grappling inside the penalty area this season, awarding three spot kicks for penalty-area tugging in three Premier League games this season.

Dean has officiated more games than any other Premier League referee since the start of last season (36), awarding a penalty every 2.1 games on average.

Only Bobby Madley - who awarded Liverpool a penalty live on Sky Sports on Saturday - tops Dean's rate with a penalty awarded once every 1.8 games on average. He is followed by Andre Marriner (one every 2.5 games) and Roger East (one every 3.3 games).

At the other end of the spectrum, the statistics are quite remarkable.

Martin Atkinson, who has officiated 31 Premier League games since last season, has awarded just two penalties, a rate of one every 15.5 games compared with Madley's 1.8.

Neil Swarbrick (one every 9.5 games) and Mike Jones (one every 9.33 games) are also up there with Atkinson for company.
