St Johnstone have lodged appeals against the yellow cards issued to Graham Cummins and matchwinner Chris Kane in Saturday's game against Hearts.

Both players were yellow booked for acts of 'simulation' by referee John Beaton in the 1-0 win at McDiarmid Park but the club have elected to challenge those decisions.

Manager Tommy Wright said: "We've viewed the footage of the incidents and, having lodged our notice of our intention to appeal yesterday, we are making a full submission to the SFA.

"We fully support the game's authorities as they attempt to clamp down on this aspect of the game but in both these cases we feel that the players have been wrongly cautioned."

Wright had insisted Hearts players were going to ground too easily in the build-up to Saturday's game in Perth.

Hearts had Jamie Walker banned for diving against Celtic earlier in the season while the Edinburgh club successfully appealed against a booking for simulation received by Tony Watt in the game against Hamilton.
