St Etienne's hopes of securing European football faded further as they drew 2-2 at home to 10-man Bordeaux on Friday night.

Vincent Pajot's equaliser kept Les Verts in seventh place in Ligue 1, seven points behind their fifth-placed opponents and five behind Marseille in sixth.

Sixth spot will secure Europa League qualification only if Paris Saint-Germain beat Angers in the Coupe de France final.

Adam Ounas fired the visitors ahead from the penalty spot in the 42nd minute after Igor Lewczuk was brought down by Habib Maiga in the box.

But three minutes later Romain Hamouma's brilliant flick set up Robert Beric to slot home an equaliser.

Bordeaux went ahead again five minutes after the break when Ounas' free-kick was flicked on at the near post by Jaroslav Plasil and Gaetan Laborde bundled the ball home.
