Garry Monk is in advanced talks to take over at Birmingham City, according to Sky sources.
Birmingham have been without a manager since sacking Steve Cotterill on Saturday in the wake of a 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest - a result which leaves the Blues two points adrift of safety in the Sky Bet Championhip.
Sky sources understand Monk - who has managed Swansea, Leeds and, most recently, Middlesbrough - is close to agreeing a deal with Birmingham and could be announced as manager as early as Sunday night.
Birmingham's hierarchy are keen to get the deal sorted quickly so Monk can take training on Monday ahead of their game at home to his former club Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.
Monk has been out of football since he was sacked by Boro in December after just six months at the Riverside.
