Theo Walcott admitted he was delighted with the impact he made as he came on to help England secure a dramatic 3-2 win against Sweden at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev.
The Swedes had erased a half-time deficit to take a 2-1 lead, but the Arsenal winger made it 2-2 within four minutes of coming on as a substitute and he then set up Danny Welbeck for the winner with 12 minutes remaining.
Walcott claimed the victory was not just down to him as he praised the whole England team.
He said: "I wouldn't say I was the game changer. We felt from the first game we wanted to pick it up a bit more offensively and to score three goals is the main thing.
"It's always nice to come off the bench and show what you can do.
"I've obviously been disappointed that I haven't played, but I've been training hard and it's not about the starting line-up, it's a whole squad thing, we're a family.
"I was sharp warming up and you need to be sharp on the pitch because at this level it's really, really tough.
"To make my first appearance in such a high-profile sort of arena means so much because it's been a long time waiting. Hopefully there will be more to come from me."
Roy Hodgson's men now only require a draw in their final group outing with co-hosts Ukraine on Tuesday to claim a last-eight berth.
