Nottingham Forest have sacked manager Sean O'Driscoll just hours after a 4-2 victory over Leeds United at the City Ground.

The former Doncaster Rovers boss was in charge for 26 matches, winning 10, drawing nine and losing seven. Abdulaziz Al Hasawi, who was at the City Ground for the win over Leeds, added: "The timing of our decision may look a little odd after the win over Leeds, but sometimes you need to make changes with the long term future in mind. "Sometimes those changes need to be made from a position of strength rather than weakness, and that is what we are trying to do." O'Driscoll signed a three-year contract at the City Ground in July and quickly embarked a major overhaul of the squad that saw the arrival of players such as Billy Sharp, Adlene Guedioura and James Coppinger. Forest began the season with a five-game unbeaten run but have since struggled to string results together and have hovered between mid-table and the fringes of the play-offs.
