Sky Sports Fantasy Football's Tim Clement insists the captaincy pick is a no-brainer

Sky Sports Fantasy Football's Tim Clement insists this weekend's captaincy pick is a no-brainer

There will be few more obvious captaincy picks in Sky Sports Fantasy Football than this weekend with Cardiff looking perilous fodder for Luis Suarez. The Liverpool marksman is in phenomenal form with eight goals in his last three games, not to mention two Sky Sports man-of-the-match awards and three assists. Fantasy bosses have reaped the rewards with a staggering 64 points from that run, while his 17 goals in 11 games have propelled him to the top of the overall points scoring chart, despite missing the first six games of the campaign. With the Reds the shortest-priced favourites this weekend at Sky Bet, good value can also be found in other areas of their line-up. As Steven Gerrard and Daniel Sturridge remain sidelined, Jordan Henderson (£6m) is operating in a more advance role and reaped the rewards with 15 points for his superb display at White Hart Lane, while Raheem Sterling, who also found the net in the rout, is even cheaper at £4.8m. Sergio Aguero and Robin van Persie are certainly worth transferring out as they miss the busy festive period while Wayne Rooney is also a doubt for this weekend, meaning there is simply one selection for the armband - Suarez. Tough trips to Chelsea and Manchester City follow for the Reds - although even they will need masterplans to stop the Uruguayan. Elsewhere, Danny Welbeck (£7.7m) took his chance in Van Persie's absence with a brace last weekend but it is worth considering that doubled his scoring tally for the season, while he has contributed a solitary assist in 10 appearances. Fernandinho (£7m) was also at the double for Manchester City but once again defied the form guide, having previously failed to net for the title favourites. Aguero aside, Yaya Toure (£8.6m) is City's most impressive performer with eight goals to his name and a tally of 112 points, the fourth highest in the game. Looking towards backlines, it is Stoke who appeal this weekend as they host goal-shy Aston Villa. The Potters have racked up six clean sheets this season and have lost just once at the Britannia Stadium in the league this season, while Villa have failed to score in three of their last four games - although the same can be said of Mark Hughes' frontline. Manchester United's defence can also be expected to enjoy a successful afternoon on Saturday against West Ham, with the Hammers failing to score in six of their last eight meetings, while David Moyes' men have not conceded in three games in all competitions.
