The 34-year-old former Manchester United forward has been with his current Brazilian employers since the summer of 2012 and with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, he has been widely tipped to move on.
In addition to being linked with a transfer to J-League outfit Cerezo, Forlan has also been the subject of speculation with regards to a move to MLS or to the Chinese Super League. However, the reports linking Forlan with a transfer have been denied by both Internacional's president and their director of football.
The Porto Alegre outfit's director of football Eduardo Lacher told Radio Gaucha: "There is nothing official yet.
"We have no confirmation. On the contrary, the player had a medical and training on Tuesday. We expect to keep the player, but we know he is a player that attracts interest."
Internacional president Giovanni Luigi also told the radio station: "There are no offers for Forlan, I talked with his agent and he said there were no offers, but the window is open and while it's open, offers can happen.
"But there is nothing at the moment."
