Fiorentina have released an official statement to deny reports that they are in talks over the sale of Juan Cuadrado to Roma.

Cuadrado has spent the past two seasons with Fiorentina but he only became fully owned by the club earlier this week after they bought out the remaining 50 per cent of his contract from Udinese.

Speculation has since surfaced to suggest that Cuadrado could be on his way to Serie A rivals Roma, but Fiorentina have made it clear that there has been no contact.

“ACF Fiorentina categorically deny the rumours in the media of a meeting with A.S. Roma regarding the sale of Cuadrado,” read the statement.

“The indiscretions are totally without foundation, so the club will protect its image and warn against the spreading of false information.”

Cuadrado caught the eye with his performances in Serie A last season and has carried that form into the World Cup with Colombia.

He has been linked to a number of different clubs but is valued in the region of €30million.
