French striker Andy Delort has revealed his frustration that his club Tours have been unable to agree a deal with Charlton Athletic.
The 22-year-old had a number of clubs from across Europe and England battling for his signature, but Charlton look to have won the race and even reached agreement with the player on a five-year deal.
However, Tours have not been able to strike a deal with Charlton and Delort - who has two years left on his current deal - is far from happy.
He said: “The club can’t find an agreement with Charlton. The chairman is asking about a lot of money, and it blocks me. The chairman is only thinking about him.
"I thought my transfer would materialise quickly. I made a lot of efforts to join Tours last summer, I even accepted to get half wages. That situation is very difficult to me.”
Tours chairman Jean-Marc Ettori replied: “I am not thinking about me but about the club’s future. The fee we are asking for is not met so far. Should we sell cut-rates to any club which asks?
"Andy wants to play but I can’t let him play. If he gets injured who will want him? The club could go into liquidation quickly.”
