Newly-crowned Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven extended their lead at the top of the table following a 3-2 comeback victory away to Excelsior.

After an uneventful first half, Luuk de Jong's own goal put the hosts in front seven minutes after the break but Georginio Wijnaldum levelled matters with little over 20 minutes left before PSV lost Nicolas Isimat-Mirin to a second yellow card after 73 minutes.

Jeff Stans converted the penalty to give Excelsior the lead for the second time but goals from Memphis Depay and Jurgen Locadia turned things round for the visitors, who lead second-placed Ajax by 15 points.

In sixth, Heerenveen struck back to rescue a point from a 1-1 draw at home to Willem II as Mark Uth cancelled out Bruno Andrade's opener.

Sebastien Haller netted a brace as FC Utrecht moved up to 11th thanks to a 2-0 victory at Go Ahead Eagles, who are five points from safety with two matches remaining.

Also on Saturday, Heracles moved six points clear of the relegation zone and all but confirmed their safety with a 3-1 win at struggling NAC.

Bryan Linssen opener the scoring for the visitors before Ramon Zomer doubled their lead and Mats Seuntjens pulled one back for NAC before the break. Second-half substitute Jaroslav Navratil put the game beyond doubt after 72 minutes.
