FC Twente's sorry start to the Eredivisie campaign continued as they lost 2-0 to Heracles Almelo on Saturday evening.
Heracles have been the surprise package in the early weeks of the season and they joined top two Ajax and Feyenoord on nine points with a third victory from four games.
Iliass Bel Hassani fired Heracles into a 17th-minute lead before Wout Weghorst wrapped up the points 15 minutes from time.
Alfred Schreuder's Twente are now one place off the bottom after picking up only a solitary point from their opening four games.
Elsewhere, Heerenveen were held 1-1 at home by PEC Zwolle despite taking a fourth-minute lead through Sam Larsson.
Wouter Marinus struck the crossbar for fourth-placed Zwolle before Lars Veldwijk converted Sheraldo Becker's cross on the hour mark.
FC Utrecht earned their first win of the season with a 2-0 home triumph over FC Groningen.
Bart Ramselaar opened the scoring after 29 minutes from Sebastien Haller's pass before Timo Letschert made the points safe in stoppage time as Utrecht moved up to 10th and climbed above Groningen in the process.
De Graafschap stay bottom after slumping to a 3-0 defeat to Excelsior in Rotterdam.
Excelsior's first win of the campaign was sealed through goals from Sander Fischer, Bradley Kuwas and Daryl van Mieghem as De Graafschap remain pointless.
