The midfielder turned his ankle while on domestic duty with Borussia Dortmund on Sunday.
He will now be forced to sit out a crucial fixture for Poland as they attempt to book their passage to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
"Initial diagnosis says no training for four to six weeks," Blaszczykowski said on his personal website on Monday.
Blaszczykowski, who is skipper of his national side, will also sit out a friendly date with South Africa on Friday.
He is due to undergo further medical tests in an effort to determine the full extent of the damage suffered.
"It could be anything from stretched ligaments to ligament rupture," read a statement released by Dortmund.
"In such a case he could be out for up to six weeks. Only the scan can offer a diagnosis."
