Good Week/Bad Week: We look at the winners and losers over the last seven days

Another week in the world of sport has given us another group of heroes and villains to analyse.

Hull City
It might have been another indifferent week for Hull City off the pitch last week, but on it they can have no complaints. The Tigers were coming off the back of a home defeat to Crystal Palace and now had mighty Liverpool standing in their way, a team they had not beaten in 17 attempts. Jake Livermore's deflected shot gave the Tigers, although their celebrations were dampened before half time courtesy of Steven Gerrard's excellent free-kick. However, Steve Bruce's men were not to be denied. David Meyler restored their advantage before Martin Skrtel's own goal late on ensured Hull would claim all three points.

Bad Week

Tony Bellew
One might suspect Tony Bellew regrets calling Adonis Stevenson a 'dwarf' ahead of Saturday's WBC light-heavyweight title in Quebec City. The 31-year-old was the underdog to wrestle the belt from the Canadian and for a short while he gave the home crowd a scare of two. However, he would not make it past the sixth round. A huge left-hand knocked Bellew off his feet and, although he beat the count, the fight was stopped by referee Michael Griffin when the Liverpudlian was boxed into a corner and taking more punishment moments later.
Martin Jol
Fulham's trip to West Ham on Saturday was simply a must-win match for the Cottagers. Fulham had lost four straight in the league since a 4-1 victory at Crystal Palace at the end of October. The pressure was firmly on Jol to deliver a result against fellow strugglers West Ham. However, that result never came for the Dutchman. Mohamed Diame's goal early in the second half opened the scoring before late efforts from Carlton and Joe Cole settled the outcome. The result left Fulham third-from-bottom in the Premier League table with 10 points from their 13 games. The club acted quickly sacking Jol within 24 hours of the defeat in East London.
Wales rugby union team
Wales might be the Six Nations kings, but when it comes to playing the cream of the southern hemisphere crop it's another story. Australia are the latest team to have played at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium and it was yet again a win for the visitors. South Africa had already come to Wales and taken the spoils and now the Wallabies followed suit. Warren Gatland's men made a fine start thanks to George North's try, but that's about as good as it got. Scores from Christian Leali'ifano and Israel Folau turned things around and they continued to pile on the points through Joe Tomane with Leali'ifano contributing 15 points from the boot. Wales did fight back late on but it was not enough to prevent a 30-26 loss, their ninth straight loss to Australia.
Green Bay
The Green Bay Packers' hopes of making this season's play-off took a massive dent last Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) courtesy of a roasting, excuse the pun, from rivals the Detroit Lions. The Packers are without star quarterback Aaron Rodgers and they are struggling in his absence. Green Bay failed to score an offensive touchdown on Thursday and the defence also struggled, shipping 40 points. The loss leaves them with a mountain to climb to secure post-season football.
