Albania recorded a rare international win against Sweden in Tirana to get the away side's Euro 2004 preperations off to a poor start.

Sweden coaches Tommy Soderberg and Lars Lagerback saw their side take a second half lead before two goals in eight minutes secured a win for Albania.

The two teams cancelled each other out in the opening 45 minutes but five minutes after the interval the visitors struck.

Heerenveen midfielder Stefan Selakovic (pictured) breathed life into the game with a goal on 50 minutes but the visitors were stung by an equaliser 17 minutes later.

Ervin Skela got the home side back in it before Ardian Aliaj put his side in front with a goal 15 minutes from time.

The Scandinavians pushed forward in search of an equaliser but Hans-Peter Briegel's men held out to send fans n the Albanian capital home happy and Soderberg and Lagerback back to the drawing board.
