Killie set to sign central defender

Kilmarnock are set to seal the signing of Scunthorpe United defender Michael Nelson. The 31-year-old defender is set to pen a two-and-half-year deal at Rugby Park after the two clubs agreed a fee. Nelson only joined the Iron 12 months ago when he arrived from Norwich City, and he is now on the move again as he prepares to seal a switch to the SPL. "We are delighted to get a player with this level of experience," Kilmarnock chairman Michael Johnston told STV. "He will add a great deal to our team."

Riordan

Killie have also confirmed that Scotland international Derek Riordan is training with the club. The former Hibernian striker is a free agent after leaving Chinese side Shaanxi Chan-Ba. "Derek likes our way of playing," said manager Kenny Shiels. "He knows it would suit both parties. We would benefit from him and it's an opportunity for him to express what he can do."
