Kenny Dalglish has called on AC Milan to make a decision on Alberto Aquilani's future and insists he would be happy to welcome the midfielder back to Liverpool.
Aquilani is on a season-long loan at the San Siro and has made 22 appearances for the Serie A title contenders, but has been hampered by injury.
If the 27-year-old features 25 times for the Rossoneri, then he will activate an automatic buy-out clause which would cost the Italian club £6million.
The former Roma man has been a substitute for the last four games and there have been suggestions that Milan are not picking Aquilani in order to ensure the clause is not triggered.
Dalglish believes Milan should inform Aquilani if he is not going to be part of their long-term plans and is waiting for a decision to be made.
"We've done everything right from our side, so how they want to play it and what they want to do, that's up to them," said Dalglish.
"If they don't want him, tell the boy you don't want him. They will do what they have to do. If they don't trigger it or they don't want him, it's not a problem.
"I'll be disappointed for the boy, but then he'll come back here as he's our player."
