Pools send duo packing

Hartlepool pair Gary Liddle and Nolberto Solano have been told they no longer feature in manager Neale Cooper's plans.

The departure of midfielder Liddle and winger-turned-defender Solano takes the total number of players released by Pools since the end of the season to seven, with Adam Boyd, James Brown, Colin Larkin, Steve Haslam and Callum Hassam exiting earlier this week. Liddle, 25, came through the ranks at Victoria Park and has made over 280 first-team appearances since making his debut in a Carling Cup win at Burnley in 2006. Solano, 37, was considered something of a transfer coup when he arrived from Hull on a free transfer last summer but due to fitness and illness the former Peru international has been restricted to 16 appearances this season.
