Martinez targets move for Fyvie

Sky Sports understands Wigan Athletic are lining up a move for Aberdeen hot-shot Fraser Fyvie. Fyvie is regarded as one of the best young talents to emerge from Scotland in recent years and has attracted the interest of a host of clubs. Fulham have held a long-term interest in the attacking midfielder and failed in a bid to sign the 19-year-old in the January transfer window. Aberdeen are resigned to losing their prize asset with Fyvie turning down the club's offer of a new deal. Wigan have now entered the race for Fyvie and are hoping to beat a host of their Premier League rivals to the Scotland youth international captain. Latics boss Roberto Martinez has enjoyed success with bringing in players from Scotland with the likes of James McCarthy and James McArthur all impressing at the DW Stadium and Martinez hopes to win the race for Fyvie.
