Leeds not giving up on keeping defender

Sky Sports understands Derby County are leading the race to sign Leeds defender Aidy White, although the Whites are refusing to give up on keeping him. The Rams have held talks with White, who is out of contract at Elland Road, about a switch to Pride Park. Derby boss Nigel Clough is a big admirer of the youngster and he is keen to bring him on board. Leeds would be due a compensation fee should he leave, but Neil Warnock is set to hold further talks with the player about signing a new deal. White has so far been unable to agree a new deal with Leeds and a host of clubs have been keeping tabs on his situation. The 20-year-old is weighing up the offer from Derby with Leeds expected to make a last-ditch bid to try and keep him at Elland Road.
