Former Aberdeen defender set to join Stewart at Dens Park

Dundee are hoping to follow up the signing of Mark Stewart by finalising a deal for former Aberdeen defender Davide Grassi ahead of Saturday's game against Kilmarnock. Stewart has signed for the Dark Blues on a free transfer following the club's promotion back to the SPL and he is likely to be joined at Dens Park by Grassi. "We are waiting on international clearance for Davide and Mark Stewart will sign today, which gives us more numbers and strength in depth," said Dundee manager Barry Smith. "There's not a lot of money but there is enough to maybe bring a few more in that are within our budget." Left-sided defender Grassi will join from Belgian second division side FC Brussels. The 26-year-old spent the 2009/10 season at Aberdeen under Mark McGhee and suffered a triple cheekbone fracture in a League Cup defeat against Dundee.
