Chievo continue to strengthen ahead of the 2014-15 Serie A season and on Thursday morning announced the signing of experienced midfielder Mariano Izco from Catania.
The Flying Donkeys have added no fewer than 10 new recruits to their squad as they look to improve on a 16th-placed finish, with Izco becoming the second player to join from Catania by following striker Maxi Lopez to Verona.
A statement published on Chievo's official website said the 31-year-old from Buenos Aires had signed a three-year contract at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi.
Izco, who made 218 league appearances across eight seasons with Catania, will be presented to the media on Monday.
Head coach Eugenio Corini has also signed defenders Cristiano Biraghi, Alessandro Gamberini and Edimar, midfielders Nicola Bellomo and Thomas Mangani, and wingers Riccardo Meggiorini and Valter Birsa.
Goalkeepers Francesco Bardi and Marcos Miranda are further notable additions and will provide competition for established number one stopper Christian Puggioni.
