The League Managers Association will shortly be naming a master tactician with the unenviable job of selecting 11 legends - from a squad gathered by the Professional Footballers' Association - to play the British Defence Medical Services at the Ricoh Arena on May 4.
The mystery manager will have a long list of legends at his disposal, including Dion Dublin, Darren Huckerby and Ugo Ehiogu - but will they make the match-day team?
Former Everton pair Alan Stubbs and Lee Carsley, old Blackburn Rovers team-mates Matt Jansen and Michael Gray, as well as Clayton Blackmore, Jimmy Carter, David Hillier, Frank Sinclair and Maik Taylor are also in the star-studded squad.
Howard Wilkinson, chairman of the LMA, said: "The League Managers Association are proud and delighted to support such a fantastic event in Football for Heroes."
As well as the big match, there will be a specially created family fan zone - before and after the game - which will see a number of Armed Forces-led activities taking place.
A performance from the Military Wives choir and other military bands will also take place at the stadium in Coventry.
Tickets for the match can be purchased in advance for just £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s, with further discounts available for family and student tickets. Anyone wishing to secure a seat can visit www.footballforheroes.co.uk.
