Elito aiming for consistency

Dagenham winger Medy Elito aims to regularly replicate his man-of-the-match performance in Saturday's 2-0 victory over York.

Elito showed Daggers fans what he has to offer as an attacking outletas he terrorised York's defence, a sight not seen with enough consistency since joining the club two years ago. But the 23-year-old is aiming to show that kind of flair on a more regular basis this term. "I want to carry on playing well, have that consistency in my game and to get more man of the match awards, be the best player on the pitch week in, week out," he told Daggers Player. Elito is also keen to increase his return in front of goal having found the net just three times from open play last term, with a further three goals coming from the penalty spot. "I want to try and get more shots off and get more goals. I've made a target for myself this season and I want to achieve it," he added. And Elito's determination will be music to the ears of Dagenham boss Wayne Burnett, who on Saturday finally claimed his first home win since first taking the reins in late February. "Medy at times can be unplayable, he's got all the attributes to be a very, very good player, but as we've seen previously in other games and last season, he can be a little frustrating at times," Burnett said. "I've taken him off at half-time and sometimes I've felt like taking him off a little bit before then. But when he's on his game he's very, very good. "He can beat people both ways, he's technically good with both feet, he's quick. It's just maintaining that level of consistency."
