Barca closing on Ustari

Reports suggest Barcelona are closing on an agreement to sign Oscar Ustari.

Reports emanating from Spain and Argentina suggest Barcelona are closing on an agreement to sign Independiente goalkeeper Oscar Ustari.

The 20-year-old is highly rated in his homeland and has previously attracted the interest of Arsenal.

Ustari was a member of Argentina's World Cup squad this summer and is thought to command a fee of around ‚é¼8 million (£5.5 million).

Barcelona director of football Txiki Beguiristain has travelled to Argentina to meet with Independiente officials to attempt to reach an accord on a fee.

The Catalan club are rumoured to have offered around ‚é¼7 million (£4.7 million) for Ustari but remain hopeful of coming to an agreement for the young keeper's services.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are also thought to be tracking Boca Juniors duo Fernando Gago and Rodrigo Palacio, with club officials in attendance for their game against River Plate at the weekend.
