The agent of versatile Chilean player Mauricio Isla says there is serious interest from Roma in signing the Udinese star.
The 21-year-old, who was signed by Udinese in 2007 from Universidad Catolica, has made 31 Serie A appearances this term.
The Chilean international, who can play in defence, midfield or as a winger, is also attracting interest from Napoli.
But his agent, Leonardo Rodriguez, insists Roma are his preferred choice after the side finished a narrow second to Inter Milan in Serie A this term.
Very interested
Rodriguez said: "Roma are very interested in Isla. Now I am going to have meetings with the officials of Udinese because they don't want the player to leave easily as they consider him a very important player.
"I know that Udinese would like Isla to stay with them because he has a great future but I think that the player deserves to take a step forward in his career and I am convinced that he will have that chance.
"After the meeting with the people of Udinese I will have a meeting with people from Napoli as they are also interested in the player but I think it would be ideal to get him transferred to Roma because it's a team that has fought for the title until the end (this season) and it's a team that will play in the Champions League.
"Despite this, I owe Napoli the courtesy of at least sitting down with them and listening to what they want to offer."
