Representative insists frontman is staying put

Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella will not be departing Turin in the January transfer window, according to his agent. The Italian was sidelined for the second half of last season with a serious knee injury but has now recovered and is available for selection. However, Quagliarella has only made one appearance for Juve off the bench this term, prompting speculation he could leave in the winter transfer window. But his representative, Giuseppe Bozzo, insists the 28-year-old, who arrived in Turin from Napoli in the summer after a loan stint, will remain with the Old Lady.

Speculation

"I'll answer it [the transfer speculation] now: absolutely not," Bozzo told Tutto Juve. "Quagliarella was, is and will be a Juventus forward. As soon as he returns to the field, he will demonstrate the qualities that he displayed for the team before the injury." Bozzo also addressed talk that coach Antonio Conte is reluctant to field Quagliarella because he suspects the forward is yet to completely recover from his fitness troubles. "I have also read of this hesitation, but having regularly spoken with the player, I have not found [any] evidence [of it]," he added. "Fabio is now ready and available to return to the field as a protagonist."
