The 30-year-old has not featured for his national team since Alejandro Sabella was appointed as manager in 2011, with the likes of Lionel Messi, Gonzalo Higuain, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Sergio Aguero all favoured ahead of him.
Tevez has starred in his debut Serie A season, leading the scoring charts with 19 goals as Juventus look set to retain the title, and there has been suggestions of a return to the international stage.
However, the former Manchester City star says he is focused on his domestic football and if he does not get the call for Brazil, will enjoy some family time over the summer.
"I do my job on the pitch and after that it's up to Sabella to decide whether I go to the World Cup or not, not me," he told Toda Passion.
"It's not up to me to pick up the phone and convince him. If I don't get picked, I'll go to the seaside with my family."
Meanwhile, Juventus boss Antonio Conte has no complaints that Tevez is not involved with the Argentina team.
He said: "Thankfully Sabella isn't picking him, that way he can remain with us to train. We already have a lot of players on international duty."
