Last season's semi-finalists Monaco were eliminated from the Champions League following a 4-1 home defeat by RB Leipzig, who boosted their hopes of qualifying from Group G behind leaders Besiktas.

The Germans took an early lead in the sixth minute through an own goal by Monaco defender Jemerson, before Timo Werner added a second just three minutes.

Werner scored again from the penalty spot in the 31st minute before Radamel Falcao headed in for Monaco on 43 minutes, but Naby Keita scored Leipzig's fourth just before the break.

Besiktas had earlier secured their place in the last 16 with a 1-1 draw at home against Porto.

The visitors went ahead in the 29th minute through Felipe, but Besiktas equalised four minutes ahead of half-time when Talisca slotted in from six yards.
