Cannavaro's current contract expires at the end of the forthcoming season, and the 32-year-old appears keen to remain despite rumours of interest from Premier League clubs, including Manchester City.
The centre-half helped Napoli claim second place in Serie A last term, in a season where he had a six-month ban for failing to report an attempt at match fixing by then-goalkeeper Matteo Gianello in 2010 overturned.
"Paolo doesn't want to be treated differently from the other players just because he is the captain," Fedele told Radio Kiss Kiss.
"But the club has adjusted the contracts of others in past seasons, while this has not happened with us.
"I have a feeling that they want to arrive at the end of the contract, as happened with Hugo Campagnaro.
"Cannavaro has always said he wants to end his career at Napoli and that it is not a question money.
"There will be time to talk about it, because the club has other priorities now, but I very much hope that during this year the situation will be resolved."
