Swedish ace interested in Scottish giants

Groningen defender Andreas Granqvist has confirmed his interest in joining Celtic this summer. The former Wigan Athletic man has spent the past two seasons in Holland after failing to establish himself at the DW Stadium. The Sweden international defender has regained his form and confidence and is now interesting clubs all over the continent. Granqvist claims to have been watched by Celtic and would not turn his back on the club if they came knocking.

Interest

"There are many clubs who are interested from Scotland, France and Germany," the former Wigan stopper told Swedish television show Fotbollskanalen. "Celtic have had me watched several times. "Celtic have currently shown the most interest and I am certainly interested. "Certainly, there is a difference between interest and concrete, but it looks promising. "My contract has a term of two years at FC Groningen and must be purchased."
