Agent also reveals Burdisso negotiations

Inter Milan striker Diego Milito is close to agreeing a new contract with the club, according to his agent. The 31-year-old Argentina international was in superb form for the Nerazzurri last season, as his goals helped the Italian side to a remarkable treble. Milito saved his most memorable performance for the biggest stage of all as he bagged a brace in the UEFA Champions League final as Inter overcame Bayern Munich. But following the departure of former manager Jose Mourinho, who has now taken over at Real Madrid, speculation had mounted that the forward could be on his way out of the San Siro. However, Milito's agent Fernando Hidalgo believes an agreement between player and club is imminent. He told Sky Italia: "We are very close to an agreement with Inter for the renewal of Milito's contract, we set an appointment for Tuesday. "The player is very happy and thanked the club for this effort. It is a contract for stay for life at Inter." Meanwhile, Hidalgo also revealed that Inter and Roma are locked in negotiations for the transfer of Argentine defender Nicolas Burdisso. He added: "Roma and Inter have talked about the price, we are not involved. "Hopefully there is agreement. I spoke with (Inter sports director) Branca who said they are ready to please the players. He wants to stay at Roma, we waiting for the efforts of the Giallorossi."
