Pontus Farnerud has revealed the undercurrent of frustration which afflicts Strasbourg.
Midfielder Pontus Farnerud has revealed the frustration which afflicts Strasbourg as the club spiral toward a seemingly inevitable relegation.
Strasbourg are ten points adrift of safety after a late 2-1 defeat to Lens on Saturday, a match which saw Farnerud receive his marching orders in the 78th minute as his personal frustration boiled over.
Although Farnerud felt he was unfortunate to be dismissed following a skirmish with Yohan Demont - who was also red-carded - the Swedish international believes it is symptomatic of his side's collective decline.
"There is a lot of frustration in our side," the 25-year-old told Sportbladet.
"I pushed him [Demont] and he fell like he had got a big blow. We should at most have had a yellow card each."
