Aberdeen forward Jayden Stockley insists the clash which left Celtic's Kieran Tierney requiring lengthy treatment to a mouth injury during Saturday's Scottish Cup Final was accidental.
The full-back received medical attention after being caught by Stockley's elbow during Celtic's 2-1 victory over Aberdeen and had to be replaced by Tom Rogic, who scored an injury-time winner in a victory which sealed a historic treble for the Hoops, who had already won the Scottish Premiership and Scottish League Cup.
Tierney's final came to an abrupt end midway through the second half before he was taken to hospital following the injury, which Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers revealed may have left the 19-year-old facing an operation.
Stockley, sent off against Rangers earlier this month after twice catching players with his arm, escaped punishment following the incident and tweeted to say the collision "wasn't intentional in the slightest".
Tierney, who returned from hospital in time to collect his winners' medal and lift the trophy, is now a doubt for Scotland's match against England at Hampden Park on June 10.
Speaking after the game, Rodgers was reluctant to rule him out of the World Cup qualifier.
"I think the teeth had come through the palate in the top of his mouth. I can't imagine how sore that is so he'll need some sort of protective surgery.
"He'll need a specialist to look at it, so I don't want to rule him in or out [of the England game]."
