Fun fact: The distance between Russia's westernmost stadium (Kaliningrad) and easternmost stadium (Ekaterinburg) is more than 1500 miles - roughly the same distance as Moscow to London.
Best World Cup moment: Oleg Salenko's record haul. The striker made history at the 1994 finals against Cameroon by becoming the first - and still only - player to score five goals in a World Cup match.
Player you've never heard of: Aleksei Miranchuk - The 22-year-old Lokomotiv Moscow forward has four goals in 14 games for Russia since making his debut in 2015.
