The experienced striker formed part of a side that stunned Hibernian at Easter Road on Sunday to edge an epic play-off encounter 4-3 on penalties.
Scotland helped to see Hamilton 'over the line' after joining the club as a free agent in January.
He is now 35 years of age, but the former Swansea City and Ipswich Town frontman feels he is still capable of competing at the highest level.
It is now up to Hamilton to decide if he will be offered a shot at the top flight next season, with Scotland waiting on future discussions.
He told the Daily Record: "I talked to the gaffer and said I wanted to see how the season went. I wanted to see if I could get over the line and get to the Premiership.
"I've done that but I'm 35 now and in the last 20 minutes (against Hibs) I couldn't move I was so stiff.
"So I don't know how I'll feel in the next month. I'll just relax, enjoy my holidays and see what happens after that.
"We play some good stuff but the gaffer will know he has to bring some experienced players in.
"But Hamilton have a policy of keeping young players and giving them a chance. I think we'll need some fresh faces but the gaffer has that decision.
"It will be tough. It was a one-off game here today but the players and fans were buzzing. In the Premiership next season, we can recall games like this and you never know.
"Hopefully we can enjoy it as much as possible, but we will take care of it when it comes."
