Thomas Muller struck twice as Bayern Munich made it three wins out of three to return to the top of the Bundesliga on Saturday.

The Germany international scored his fourth and fifth goals of the season - the second a penalty - in a 3-0 win over a Bayer Leverkusen side who had arrived at the Allianz Arena clash level on points with their hosts.

Arjen Robben also scored from the spot as Bayern showed they remained the team to beat in Germany this season.

Elsewhere, Armin Veh celebrated a winning return to Stuttgart with his Eintracht Frankfurt side coming away with a 4-1 triumph which left the Swabians rooted to the foot of the table after losing their first three games of the campaign.

Luc Castaignos opened his Bundesliga account with two goals for the Eagles, who had an Adam Hlousek own goal to thank for giving them the lead.

But Stuttgart could have few complaints about losing with their only goal of the game - from Daniel Didavi - coming from an offside position.

Haris Seferovic netted Frankfurt's other from the penalty spot after Przemyslaw Tyton was sent off.

A red card and penalty also paved the way for Cologne to win their second game of the season, beating Hamburg 2-1.

Lewis Holtby's first Bundesliga goal since January 2013, and his first for Hamburg, was not enough for the northern side as Philipp Hosiner and Anthony Modeste turned the game around with the latter scoring from the spot after Emir Spahic was controversially sent off.

Yoshinori Muto became the 16th Japanese player to score in the Bundesliga as he helped Mainz to a 3-0 win over Hannover with a brace.

Yunus Malli netted the other goal for Martin Schmidt's men, who have bounced back from an opening day loss at home to Ingolstadt with two straight wins, while Hannover have lost their last two.

Ingolstadt won their second away game of the season on their shortest trip of the season, at Bavarian rivals Augsburg.

A Mathew Leckie shot was enough to earn Ralph Hasenhuttl's men all three points and leave their local rivals languishing near the foot of the table, without a win yet this season.

Darmstadt and Hoffenheim, meanwhile, remain without a win yet this season after sharing a 0-0 draw at the Bollenfalltor Stadion.
