Martin's Starting Stats
I was at Anfield for the goalless draw on Red Monday. It was only the second time in 22 Premier League games that Liverpool have failed to score. The other was away at Burnley this season.
The last time Liverpool failed to score in the Premier League at home was against Manchester United on January 17.
It was Liverpool's first Premier League clean sheet of the season and the first time Manchester United have failed to score in the league this season.
Jurgen Klopp has now completed a "season" of 38 games in charge of Liverpool. His record is P38 W18 D11 L9 F73 A50 Pts65. He started and ended "his season" with two 0-0 draws.
Klopp can still boast a better record in meetings with Jose Mourinho. This was their sixth meeting and Klopp has three wins and two draws. The Mourinho win only came when his Real Madrid were knocked out of the Champions League in the second leg of the semi-final by Klopp's Borussia Dortmund - so a hollow victory really.
Man Utd continue to boast an excellent Premier League record against Liverpool. P49 W27 D9 L13 Pts90. At Anfield it's P25 W12 D5 L9 Pts 41. They have lost only one of their last six Premier League games away at Anfield.
Over already for the Special One?
Has a team ever been seventh at this stage and won the Premier League? Is there hope for Manchester United? (Alistair, Ipswich)
MARTIN SAYS: Although these stats aren't an exact science as some teams in the table could have played more than eight games, the omens are not good for Manchester United fans.
Opta's data shows that no team that was outside the top five after eight Premier League matches has gone on to win the Premier League.
In fact, 20 of the 24 Premier League title winners were in the top three after eight games, highlighting just hard how it is to make up ground on the early front runners.
Chelsea are currently fifth and they can take hope from United's title win under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2009 when they won only four of their opening eight league matches and were fifth after eight games, but still ended up winning the title after an incredible run of 19 wins in their last 21 games.
Possession is nine-tenths of the law....
Manchester United managed just 35 per cent possession against Liverpool on Monday, but is that their lowest-ever figure in the Premier League? (Mark, Brighton)
MARTIN SAYS: Jose Mourinho's disputed those stats, but we have to go with the Premier League's official stats provided by our friends at Opta.
According to them, United did have only 35 per cent of the ball in their goalless draw at Anfield on Monday Night Football, and that represents their lowest figure in the Premier League since Opta's records began in 2003/04.
Of United's 10 lowest possession figures in the Premier League, four have come against Arsenal, while three have come against Chelsea, who they play next on Sunday.
Interestingly, though, the Red Devils have lost just two of those 10 encounters, at home to rivals Man City earlier this season and at Stamford Bridge when battling for the title with the Blues in April 2008.
And despite managing such little possession, United have actually won four of those games in question, three of which came against Arsenal in 2013, 2014 and last season, and one against Swansea City two years ago.
Happy Birthday Boys
I see both Mesut Ozil and Nolito were on target on their birthdays on Saturday, but who has scored the most Premier League goals on their birthday? (Jackie, Surrey)
MARTIN SAYS: A total of 55 different players have scored on their birthdays in the Premier League era, including Mesut Ozil and Nolito last weekend.
However, of those 55, it is Carlos Tevez and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink who lead the way after netting hat-tricks on their respective birthdays.
Tevez celebrated his 27th birthday by scoring three times in Man City's 3-0 home win against West Bromwich Albion on February 2, 2011.
Meanwhile, Hasselbaink also netted three goals on his 32nd birthday in Chelsea's 5-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge back on March 27, 2004.
However, Teddy Sheringham is the only player to have scored on more than one birthday in the Premier League era.
The Tottenham Hotspur forward celebrated his 28th and 29th birthdays by finding the back of the net against Norwich City and Southampton on April 2, 1994 and 1995 respectively - the latter a brace - and on both occasions Teddy marked the occasion with an away win.
Wayne Rooney is one of the players on the list, having scored a memorable goal against Arsenal on his 19th birthday on October 24, 2004. That was the match that ended their 49-game unbeaten run. He turns 31 six hours after the final whistle blows at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. Happy birthday Wayne (and also Roman Abramovich, who turns 50 on Monday).
United are singing the Blues
Manchester United take on Chelsea on Sunday, but what is their record like at Stamford Bridge? (Jack, Manchester)
MARTIN SAYS: If you look throughout history, Manchester United have the best points-per-game ratio of any top-flight side to have played at least 10 matches at Chelsea.
United have won 30 of their 74 league contests in west London, losing on 24 occasions and drawing 20 times, giving them a total of 110 points at an average of 1.49 points per game in the capital.
However, Manchester United have lost more Premier League away games at Stamford Bridge than at any other ground - five. They have won just one of the last 14 meetings at Chelsea - and it was a contentious 3-2 victory in October 2012 with Chelsea down to nine men and more than a suspicion of offside about the winning goal from Javier Hernandez.
