Sergio Aguero became only the fifth player in Premier League history to score five goals in a single game and Chelsea's dismal start to the season hit a new low on a thrilling day of action.

But which side has now won the most penalties in the Premier League this season? And who received the second-quickest booking of the campaign?

Here, we take you through some of the best statistics for Saturday's Premier League games, courtesy of our friends at Opta....

Crystal Palace 2-0 West Brom

Yannick Bolasie scored his first goal at Selhurst Park for Crystal Palace since January 1, 2013 (1005 days ago).

Bolasie's goal was the first that West Brom have conceded away from home in the Premier League this season and ended a Baggies' run of 391 mins without conceding on the road.

Wilfried Zaha dribbled past an opponent 10 times in this match - only Riyad Mahrez (12 v Aston Villa) has managed more in a single PL game this season.

Fifteen of the 18 goals in games featuring Crystal Palace this season have come after half-time (both scored and conceded).

West Brom have won just two of their last 15 Premier League away games in London (W2 D5 L8).

Yannick Bolasie and Yohan Cabaye secured a 2-0 win for Crystal Palace over West Brom.

Palace have five wins already this season, it took them until January 17 to reach five last season.

Fifteen British players started in this match - the joint most seen in a Premier League game this season (alongside Aston Villa v West Brom, Norwich v Crystal Palace and Norwich v Bournemouth).

The last time that Crystal Palace had more points after eight games in a top-flight season (15 this season) was in 1990-91 (16 points) - they finished third that season.

Aston Villa 0-1 Stoke City

Aston Villa have registered just one victory in their eight Premier League meetings with Stoke at Villa Park, losing the last three (D4).

Aston Villa's last four Premier League games have all ended in defeats by a one-goal margin; equalling the joint-longest such run in Premier League history (four in a row).

Villa have picked up just one point in their last seven Premier League games (D1 L6).

Tim Sherwood has now lost as many Premier League games (19) as he has won (19).

Marco Arnautovic's winner piled more misery on Tim Sherwood and Aston Villa.

Stoke have won their last two Premier League games - this after winning just two of their previous 11 in the competition (W2 D5 L4).

Five of Marko Arnautovic's seven Premier League goals have come away from home (71 per cent).

Bournemouth 1-1 Watford

Glenn Murray has scored eight Premier League goals in 21 appearances in 2015, compared to one goal in 16 before this year.

Murray's goal was the first that Watford have conceded in the first half of a Premier League this season and the Hornets were the last club to concede a goal before the break in 2015-16.

Odion Ighalo has scored Watford's last five Premier League goals.

Ighalo has now netted 21 goals in 26 league games in 2015; more than any other player in the top four tiers.

Of the 32 goalkeepers to have faced 20 or more penalties in the Premier League, Heurelho Gomes has the second best save percentage (29 per cent) after David Seaman (32 per cent).

Glenn Murray had a late penalty saved as Bournemouth were held to a draw by Watford.

The Cherries have been awarded five penalties in their last four league games against Watford, but have only scored two of these.

Bournemouth have been awarded 18 penalties in the league since the start of last season; four more than any other club in the top four tiers.

Manchester City 6-1 Newcastle United

Sergio Aguero became the fifth player to score five goals in a Premier League game (after Andrew Cole, Alan Shearer, Dimitar Berbatov and Jermain Defoe).

Aguero has 16 goals in 13 Premier League appearances in the month of October.

The Argentine's five goals came in the space of 23 minutes and 34 seconds (including first-half injury time) - the fastest five-goal haul in the history of the Premier League.

Aguero became the joint-second quickest player to reach 80 goals with his second against Newcastle (122 games). Only Alan Shearer (102 games) and Ruud van Nistelrooy (122 games) scored 80 Premier League as quickly or quicker than Aguero.

Sergio Aguero scored five goals as Manchester City thrashed Newcastle.

Aguero now has 84 Premier League goals; the same number as Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez.

Manchester City are unbeaten in their last 18 Premier League meetings with Newcastle (W16 D2), their longest-ever run without defeat against a single opponent.

Man City have netted two or more goals in each of their last 15 PL clashes with the Magpies (45 scored in total).

Steve McClaren has won just two of his last 21 league games as a manager (W2 D9 L10 - eight games at Newcastle, 13 at Derby County).

Newcastle United have won just one of their last 19 Premier League games (D4 L14).

Kevin De Bruyne has 22 league assists since the start of 2014-15; more than any other player in the top five European leagues.

Norwich City 1-2 Leicester City

Leicester have scored 11 times in their last four league matches against Norwich City.

Jamie Vardy has scored eight goals in his last nine Premier League appearances including in each of his last five matches in the competition.

Vardy has 11 league goals in 2015, more than twice as many as England colleague Wayne Rooney (five). Harry Kane (17) is the only English player with more this year.

Leicester have won more penalties (four) than any other Premier League team this season.

Leicester have won 11 Premier League games since the start of April - only Manchester City (12) have more.

Jamie Vardy scored again as Leicester secured a 2-1 win over Norwich City.

Only two of Norwich's 17 shots in this game were on target.

Leicester have scored and conceded in all eight of their league games this season.

The Foxes' last four league games have seen a total of 19 goals.

Sunderland 2-2 West Ham United

Sunderland have won just one of their last seven Premier League games against the Hammers (D4 L2).

Dick Advocaat's first Premier League game in charge of Sunderland was the meeting between the two sides in March, losing 1-0 to West Ham. The Dutchman has taken just 15 points from 17 league games.

Dimitri Payet has had a hand in 14 goals (five goals, nine assists) in his last 16 league appearances (Premier League and Ligue 1 combined).

Mark Noble's booking after 1:44 was the second quickest in the Premier League this season.

Steven Fletcher scored his 51st Premier League goal in this game - only two Scottish players have more in the competition (Duncan Ferguson - 68, Kevin Gallagher - 56).

Sunderland surrendered a two-goal lead against West Ham after having a man sent off.

Yann M'Vila assisted both of Sunderland's goals in this match - the first Sunderland player to assist 2+ goals in a game since Emanuele Giaccherini in April 2014.

Sunderland have averaged a red card every 852 minutes in Premier League history - only two clubs have received one more frequently (Blackburn - 842 mins, Hull- 720 mins).

Sunderland had 12 shots in this game but only one of them came after half-time.

Chelsea 1-3 Southampton

Southampton became the first team to score three or more goals at Stamford Bridge against Jose Mourinho's Chelsea.

Chelsea have conceded at least two goals in seven of their eight Premier League games this season (the other game was a 2-0 win against Arsenal).

Chelsea have conceded as many goals in their last four Premier League home games (seven) as they had in the previous 17 at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have eight points from eight games. No team has ever finished higher than fifth in the Premier League after starting like this. The average finishing position from this start is 14th.

This is Chelsea's lowest points total after eight games in a top-flight season since 1978-79 (four points), when the two-points for a win rule was operating. Chelsea were relegated in this season.

Only Sunderland (18) have conceded more Premier League goals than Chelsea this season.

This was only Jose Mourinho's seventh home league defeat as a football manager. It equals his worst result (Real Madrid 1-3 Barcelona in December 2011).

Jose Mourinho has lost five of his last 10 Premier League games. Before that he'd lost only five of the previous 59.

Graziano Pelle scored his 17th Premier League goal but only the third away from home.

Pelle also assisted two goals in a Premier League game for the first time.

Chelsea did not have a shot in the second half until the 77th minute.

Chelsea have picked up six bookings for simulation since the start of last season, twice as many as any other Premier League side.
