Sunderland are on the look out for a new manager following the resignation of Dick Advocaat.
The Dutchman failed to win any of his side's opening eight matches and leaves the Wearsiders in 19th place in the Premier League.
Here we take a look at the key names linked with the vacancy at the Stadium of Light, according to Sky Bet's odds for the next Sunderland manager.
The former West Ham, Newcastle, Blackburn and Bolton boss was immediately installed as favourite following Advocaat's departure and is reportedly high on the list of potential successors on Wearside. The former Sunderland player is an obvious front-runner and knows what's needed when in the heat of a relegation dogfight, although speculation suggests the 61 year-old is not ready to end his sabbatical following his exit from Upton Park.
The former Leicester boss is second in the betting but has already attracted more bets than any other of the leading candidates having initially being priced at 6/1. Pearson worked wonders at the King Power as the Foxes dragged themselves back from the brink of relegation by winning seven of their last nine matches before his surprise departure only weeks before the start of the season. Pearson is desperate to get back into management and may be ready to take on the challenge.
Dyche is highly regarded despite his failure to keep Burnley in the top flight last season. The Clarets boss was reportedly set to join Sunderland in the summer before Advocaat overturned his decision to retire. Dyche has started the season well at Turf Moor so may prefer to see out the job with the Clarets rather than taking on another Premier League relegation tussle.
David Moyes is another popular candidate, although it is believed the former Everton and Manchester United boss, another 16/1 shot, is not ready to return to the Premier League just yet. Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked by Liverpool on Sunday, was immediately installed as a 4/1 shot but has since drifted out to 20/1.
Former USA and Egypt coach Bob Bradley had been backed into favourite having opened up at 25/1 but has since drifted to 16/1 in the betting. The 57-year-old is currently working with Norway club Stabaek and has been linked with a host of vacancies recently.
Former Aston Villa and Norwich boss Paul Lambert is deemed a 20/1 shot, while former Celtic boss Neil Lennon is 25/1.
