St Johnstone captain Dave Mackay has signed a one-year contract extension which ties him to the club until the end of the 2016/17 season.
The 34-year-old defender has been at McDiarmid Park since moving from Livingston on a free transfer in the summer of 2009.
He has since gone on to make almost 260 appearances and lifted the Scottish Cup following St Johnstone's 2-0 victory over Dundee United at Celtic Park in May 2014, the first time the club had won a major trophy.
Saints manager Tommy Wright welcomed Mackay's decision to extend his stay in Perth.
He told his club's official website: "I'm delighted that Dave has signed for next season. He has consistently been one of the best players at the club and given his length of service I would argue that he is one the club's best ever players.
"He's been a captain on and off the pitch. His form since coming back from his summer surgery has been excellent and we were pleased to sit down and get an extension agreed."
