Scottish Premiership round-up: Celtic equal record, Rangers win

Celtic Moussa Dembele celebrates scoring his side's second goal of the game

Celtic broke their own 100-year-old British record by stretching their unbeaten domestic run to 63 matches with a 4-0 victory over St Johnstone.

Scott Sinclair, Moussa Dembele and Olivier Ntcham were on target and Steven Anderson netted an own goal as Celtic strolled to three Scottish Premiership points and made more history in the process.

Willie Maley's side went 62 games unbeaten between 1915 and 1917, but Brendan Rodgers' team have now replaced them in the record books after dominating at McDiarmid Park.

It was also a good day for Rangers as they beat Partick Thistle 3-0 at Ibrox in Graham Murty's second match in temporary charge following Pedro Caixinha's sacking last month.

Defender Ross McCrorie scored his first goal for the Gers in the 29th minute when he headed in a cross from wide-man Daniel Candeias, who doubled that lead in the 38th minute with a drive before Josh Windass added a third at the start of the second half.

Aberdeen missed the opportunity to close the gap on record-breaking Celtic at the top of the table as they were held 2-2 by Hamilton Academical.

Dougie Imrie handed Hamilton the lead after 19 minutes before goals from Greg Stewart and Kari Arnason put Aberdeen in front. However, David Templeton's strike with less than 15 minutes remaining secured a point for the hosts.
