St Johnstone midfielder staying until 2012

Chris Millar has signed a contract extension with St Johnstone that keeps him with the SPL side through 2012. The former Greenock Morton midfielder has impressed with the Saints this season after helping them win promotion last term. Millar scored their weekend winner against St Mirren and insists staying at McDiarmid Park was a 'no-brainer'. "It was a no-brainer for me. I came here hoping for SPL football and we've got it now," said the 26-year-old. "The gaffer gave me my chance and I'm loving playing at this level for the first time in my career. "The SPL is living up to all my expectations and we're holding our own in this company."

Hopeful

Meanwhile, manager Derek McInnes is hopeful Peter MacDonald's hip injury is nothing serious. MacDonald was making his first appearance in 16 months against the Buddies, but was forced out of the weekend action with a hip complaint. "Peter has a hip problem. He got a knock just before half time and it stiffened up," said McInnes "I was glad to get him back on the pitch and hopefully it's nothing too serious because he did well."
