Turner happy to add Millers skipper to his squad
Shrewsbury Town have snapped up Rotherham United captain Ian Sharps and secured Shane Cansdell-Sheriff on a new contract.
Sharps was offered fresh terms to stay with the Millers, but has opted to move to the Shrews, ending a four-year association with the club.
New Shrews boss Graham Turner is confident the addition of Sharps to his squad will be a big boost for the League Two outfit.
"The addition of Ian Sharps to the squad is a big boost for the side as he is a very good player," Turner told the club's official website.
"You need to have the right type of players in all position and Ian certainly fits that bill."
Meanwhile, Cansdell-Sheriff has agreed a new two-year contract and Turner is happy to be piecing his squad together for next season.
He added: "Shane agreeing to extend his stay at the club is another boost as you need competitions in all places.
"The two agreeing deals is a big boost and I can't wait for the start of pre-season and getting down to work."
