Winger closing on return to action following ankle injury

Burton Albion look set to welcome back winger Cleveland Taylor as he closes on a first-team return. The summer signing from St Johnstone has been sidelined for the past few weeks with an ankle injury sustained in last month's 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury. However, as he nears his comeback, Taylor has been warned by Burton boss Paul Peschisolido that he faces a challenge to win back his place due to the form of Jacques Maghoma and Jimmy Phillips. "Cleveland's injury has taken some time to settle down and he has been out for a fair few weeks now, but I expect him to be out for probably another week or so," Peschisolido told skysports.com.

Excited

"It has been a blow because he is a great player and we are excited to get him back fit and on the pitch again, but to be fair the likes of Jacques Maghoma and Jimmy Phillips have been great recently. "The two of them caused Sheffield United's full-backs endless problems and created a host of chances against a former Championship side, so although Cleveland has been out those two have proven that they can deliver the goods when called upon." The Brewers have made a solid start to the season, with 10 points from their first seven games, but Peschisolido refused to rule out dipping into the loan market after previous success. He added: "We've really done well in the past by using the loan market, with some great players available down that route, so I definitely wouldn't rule that avenue out. "We've tried to build a good permanent squad here over the past eight to ten months, but sometimes a loan addition here or there can help freshen things up, so we will have to have a look and see what is out there."
