Pesch: Maghoma gamble paid off

Burton manager Paul Peschisolido has admitted he gambled on Jacques Maghoma's fitness by playing him in Saturday's win over Swindon.

Maghoma was set to miss the game with an ankle injury, but Peschisoldio decided to risk putting the 23-year-old straight into the side as Calvin Zola was sidelined with hamstring problem. Maghoma went on to score in a 2-0 victory for the Brewers much to his manager's relief. Peschisolido told the Burton Mail: "It was the sort of gamble I wouldn't normally take on a player's fitness, but happily it turned out fine. "Jacques got a goal, we won a game and he hasn't said anything about aggravating the injury. "He should be fine for the game at Gillingham on Saturday."
