Charlton manager Chris Powell praised his side's resilience after they came from behind to draw 1-1 draw with Tranmere at The Valley.
Results elsewhere saw the Addicks' lead at the top of League One cut from five to three points, but it could have been worse had Tranmere held on to the lead provided by Adam McGurk's 33rd-minute opener. Powell's side were handed a lifeline late on when they were awarded a penalty, which was converted in the 80th minute by skipper Johnnie Jackson. And although neither Powell or opposite number Les Parry could clarify exactly why the spot-kick had been awarded, the Charlton boss was the happier of the two after seeing his side fight back. He said: "We remain unbeaten. It was the cliched game of two halves. We didn't really turn up in the first period against a team which came to frustrate us. "To be fair they played some decent stuff and what I liked was we showed some character and some resilience in the second period when the pressure was on us, because now a lot of teams will come here, really sit back and look for us to break them down. "We are going to play teams like Tranmere throughout the season that will come here to be dogged, time waste, a bit niggly and try to frustrate us and frustrate the crowd. We had a bit of that but the players showed a bit of patience. The game is over 90 minutes plus so it doesn't matter when you get the penalty."
