Kee deserves call-up - Pesch

Burton Albion manager Paul Peschisolido believes striker Billy Kee deserves his first senior cap for Northern Ireland.

Kee is currently captain of the Under-21 side but Peschisolido feels his goalscoring exploits at club level this season should be rewarded with a first full international appearance. Kee was watched by a Northern Ireland scout as Burton beat AFC Wimbledon 3-2 at the Pirelli Stadium nine days ago and the 21-year-old made a huge impression by scoring twice to take his tally to 11 goals in 10 starts for Albion this season. "I just hope Billy gets the chance to play on the international stage because I think he's worth a shot," Peschisolido told the Burton Mail. "He's a natural goalscorer and they're hard to find and I really think Northern Ireland would be doing themselves a favour him if they blooded him early. "Northern Ireland haven't got that big a pool of players to choose from and I can't imagine anyone is in better form than Billy. "People will say he's only playing at League Two level and that a step up to international football would be too big for him to make. But the only way to find out is to give him his chance and I hope for the boy's sake that it comes early next year."
