Burton's bid for promotion from League Two will begin with an away clash against Cheltenham on August 3.
Both sides suffered heartbreak in the play-off semi-finals last season and the Brewers, whose first home game comes against Rochdale seven days later, will hope to start well this time around.
Gary Rowett's men visit Chesterfield on October 19 and they host Mansfield on November 26 with the reverse fixture coming on New Year's Day.
Northampton will travel to the Pirelli Stadium on Boxing Day while the Brewers' last contest sees them on the road against Southend on May 3.
